The best sports story of the day happened around 11:45ET in Sydney, Australia with hardly anyone watching. There's Ken Griffey Sr and Ken Griffey Jr playing together. There's LeBron and Bronny playing together. And now we have 2 time grand slam champion and former world number 1, Lleyton Hewitt, coming out of retirement for the week to play doubles with his 16 year old son Cruz Hewitt this week at the ATP Challenger tournament in Sydney, Australia.

Lleyton and Cruz cruised to a 1 and 0 first round victory against fellow Aussies Pavle Marinkov and Hayden Jones. This match was over before they walked on the court, the aura of the father and son duo being too much. Hayden and Pavle, two 19 year old Aussies, have grown up watching Lleyton since they were born and him being the standard for where they're trying to get to. Being similar age to Cruz I'm sure they've spent time around Lleyton but it's way different playing an actual tournament match against a former world number 1. Just a different beast. Just being on the other side of the net from Lleyton was probably a moment they'll never forget and tell stories about for generations to come.

Ultimately Lleyton and Cruz did just about everything better than the other team. Better at the net, better returns, better serves... pretty much what you'd expect from a 2 time slam champ and one of the best young players in the world, Cruz. Next match will be around 1am ET Thursday morning against 2 more aussies, Callum Puttergill and Dane Sweeney. The battle of the better un-retired player, Lleyton or Callum?!
