Fia JCF Breakup

This is a post I figured I'd be writing but not this soon. As an OG Fia discoverer back in 2018 when Fia was just a young Lad (really Shariq aka Uncle Riqo told me about him) but we saw him in Amsterdam and predicted #1 in the world. Our best call to date. Or his I guess. But this isn't what I'd like my first article for Fia to be about.

Carlitos Alcaraz and Juan Carlos Ferrero have ended their coach and player partnership. This is shocking news given the fact Ferrero has coached him since before I first saw him, has been a part of his journey since he was around 14 years old and saw him win grand slams and become 1 in the world. Usually you keep the winning formula until it isn't working anymore. And having won 2 grand slams just this past year, this partnership was definitely still working.

but then you watch his documentary on Netflix and you realize maybe there was more rift in this camp than you thought. JCF clearly didn't like how Fia wanted to be a normal kid, not a tennis robot. Fia wanted to celebrate his RG win in Ibiza and get away from tennis, when JCF felt like he should buckle down on tennis even more at that time. Fia's mom was even saying she felt Carlitos needs to be a kid and enjoy his life more and clearly JCF was on the other end of that spectrum. So when parents are disagreeing with the way the coaches want their kids to live the life, there is clearly problems.

But that being said they truly were like a family, JCF being his second dad as Carlos had even said. JCF had the tennis resume and the coaching resume to continue with Carlitos, there just were clearly problems that became too much as Carlitos became older.

Who knows what really went on here and why it ended but either way it is sad. One of the more successful sports partnerships, especially considering they started together at such a young age, something no other tennis great has ever really done. I think one day we'll see JCF back in the box giving signals and getting Fia pumped up again, i just think like any relationship maybe some time apart isn't the worst. If this is the last we've seen from JCF and Fia, boy was it magical. Godspeed.
