7. Heisman Trophy- NCAA Football

   What a battle for 7th place. So many iconic trophies. Wimbledon plate, Lombardi Trophy, and the Larry O. But the winner for the last spot is... the Fernando Mendoza award, the Heisman Trophy. My only criteria for why this stood out from the others is this. What other award is a mold of a pose that people hit weekly? From kids in their backyard hitting the Heisman pose, to college athletes scoring and hitting the Heisman, there is no other award like it. Plus when you win the trophy you enter a club that gets a vote for the rest of your life to pick the next Heisman winner. It is unique not just a normal trophy. What a beast of a trophy shoutout Desmond Howard for hitting the Heisman.

6. Tree of Fanti. Paris Masters Tennis

   This one I guarantee nobody outside of major tennis fans have heard of. The Tree of Fanti, given to the winner of the Paris indoor Masters each year on the ATP. The Tree of Fanti was started in 1991, and is designed to look like a tree, except when you rotate it 90 degrees to the right all of a sudden it looks like a draw sheet. Ands that's exactly what it is. The final branch has the winners name, before that the 2 finalists, the 4 semis prior to that, and so on, recreating a draw sheet in the form of a tree. Every year the trophyshows the road it took for the winner to get there and who all was defeated en route to the title. It is totally custom each year, since the draw and results are changing each year, and is unlike any other trophy in sports you will ever see. Totally original.

   
   

   

5. Olympic Gold Medal

   The most prestigous of all awards. An Olympic Gold Medal. And what is even best about this is you go home with the same trophy that is put around you when you win. It isnt a replica to take home that is a fraction of the size of the real thing. The same gold medal given to you is what Jesse Owens and Jackie Joyner-Kercee got it. And it is solid gold, a block of solid gold. However, without it's historical context, it is just a round block of gold. It isn't a unique 5 foot trophy with engravings, however it is the ultimate award any athlete in the world could be given.

4. World Cup. Futbol

   The World Cup just looking at it looks like an ancient artifact. You can see the prestige just looking at it. The same trophy held be Pele, Maradona, Messi, the greatest players of the most international sport in the world. It has seemingly soccer gods at the bottom in gold, holding up a gold globe at the top. It's not huge like other trophies, it is just unique.

3. Stanley Cup. NHL

   I gotta go with lord Stanley for 3. The Stanley Cup could easily be number 1 on this list. Stanley Cup has the most tradition of all of these trophies going back to 1892. It also has tradition of every player who wins the Stanley Cup getting to spend a day with it, and a whole lot of beers drinken out of Lord Stanley. Like the Davis Cup trophy, more layers keep getting added to it to feature the names of every person on every winning Stanley Cup team in history. The Stanley Cup is followed around everywhere with a Stanley Cup keeper, never leaving its sight. It has better security than The Louvre. Just looking at it it would be a 6 or 7, but it's history is a 1 or 2, so 3 is a fitting place.

2. Davis Cup. Tennis

   Davis Cup trophy goes to the country who wins the Davis Cup each year. This Davis Cup trophy is the Brian Urlacher or Ray Lewis of trophies. It is over 5 feet tall and about as wide as it is tall. Good luck moving this thing or picking it up. It has the winning team scripted into the side, and has a classic bowl on top of it, for Stanley Cup like celebrations. No other trophy is as massive as this one, being about 5 feet wide and over 5 feet tall. Has the prestige going back to 1900. The original bowl on top has the winners from 1900-1919 and after that more layers keep getting added. This beast of a trophy will continue to get bigger over time, however hopefully they revamp the Davis Cup to make the winner more worthy of this trophy. Sulli of trophies.

   
   

   

   
   

1. Borg-Warner Trophy. Indy 500. Indycar

   The best trophy in sports is the Borg-Warner Trophy presented to the winner of the Indy 500 each year. I'm a homer for the 500 sure, but it is the only trophy in sports to have the face of every winner of the Indy 500 since 1911 carved into it. It also isn't a trophy you just hold up or a medal around your neck, nah this is a 5 foot 4 monstrosity. It has handles on the side in case you want to try to carry it. It has a person waving a checkered flag on top of it too, another personal nod to the Indy 500, not just a standard trophy. But the individual carvings of the winners faces, is what puts this trophy into a tier of its own. The Borg-Warner is 1 of 1, and no other trophy in sports stacks up to it.
