Cig 10

Indiana University football claim their first big 10 title in over 50 years. This is something I thought I would never see. It's the best turnaround in all of college sports. They went from the longest FBS team in the history of the sport, to Big 10 Champions in Cigs 2nd year. And in his first year he only lost 1 game and took IU to the college football playoff for the first time ever.
Last year they were legit. Had transfer Kurtis Rourke at QB and had a lot of Cigs JMU transfers also. There success was a total shocker, as they were predicted to finish 17th out of 18th in the Big 10. And that's what we all expected. But not Cig. Cig called his shot. He said they'd be in the Big 10 title game in 2 years, which they were. They didn't just get to that game though, they dominated over the past 2 years, cementing themselves and Ohio State as clearly the two best big 10 teams over the past 2 years.
This year Cig doubled down, got an even better transfer qb in Fernando Mendoza. Heismendoza is what they're calling him, especially now that he is -3000 on FanDuel to win the award after his performance in the Big 10 game on Saturday.
The game was a pretty grueling defensive battle for most of the game. Both QB's had interceptions and both teams missed pretty routine field goals. OSU's missed field goal was a little more costly though, missing a chippy to tie the game with only a couple minutes left. Cig's playcalling was gutsy throughout the game. On 3rd and short opportunities he'd take his chance at deep balls and it worked. Mendoza was able to throw an unreal out route on 3rd and 2 to secure the game and basically run out the clock.
IU did this all without star wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. Omar Cooper Jr caught the game winning TD against Penn State, the best catch in IU football history. But he got hurt on the first drive of this game. Mendoza also took a massive shot the first play of the game, and us IU/Tex fans started having major flashbacks to Colt McCoy vs Bama BCS Natty game. But Heismendoza shook it off, got up, stayed in the rest of the game, and put on a Heisman winning performance. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the legend of Elijah Sarratt too. He's a lethal wide receiver who is going to make a household name for himself in the NFL I believe. If he hasn't already, he will.
Like the GOAT Interview Combo said, IU is "flipping champs" and Coach Cig has "3 and a half week to humble these guys and get them hungry for the playoff". The big 10 win was fun, but it meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. The next month is where legends are made. If this is the farthest they go though, they went way farther than anyone in Indiana, America, or the world ever expected the
