Bron vs Father Time

The most one sided battle in sports is starting to even out. Everybody remembers that tweet from 2015 saying "Lebron is 30, this fuckery wont go on much longer, thank god". And then he proceeded to go to the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020 NBA finals and has been an all star every year since then and it's now 2025 and he will once again be an All Star in 2026. But this year is the first year that he probably doesn't actually deserve it, but will get in off the fan vote.

Every year there were hardly any signs of slowing down, if any. Actually after that tweet he got even better and a lot of people say he played his best basketball that next season when he won the NBA championship with Cleveland. It seemed as if Bron would be able to play forever, but from what I have seen from the past few games, father time is starting to catch up. The explosiveness hasn't been there, the speed and lift haven't been there, and on defense it's a decent amount of standing around. Similar to Messi on a soccer field but with 11 players it can be disguised more. This article might be my version of "this fuckery cant go on much longer" considering he is unanimously a top 2 player of all time, but his first few games since injury he doesn't seem like the same player. There was one play against the Mavs he thought he had enough leverage but AD just blocked his shot to the bench, something that would have never happened in his first 20 seasons. He is now having to find different ways to be effective, more Jokic and less prime MJ.

Last nights game against the Suns I honestly felt bad for Bron. It seemed all game like he might not get his 10 points for a 1297th consecutive time. He has gotten at least 10 points in every game since 2007, one of the most impressive stats in all of sports, showing his longevity and greatness. For example prime Haliburton had 0, Steph has had games with less than 10, but never Bron. An unbelievable stat for a guy who is considered not a scorer but holds the all time scoring record (go figure). And once the Lakers were down 25 and Bron only had 4 points it became pretty clear this was going to be the Bron chasing 10 game. They were going to hima nd trying to find him but he couldn't get by guys the same, coulnd't back guys down the same, couldn't create space the same. But he didn't really have it, wasn't able to just bully his way to the rim for 10 anymore. It actually looked for most of the game like he wasn't going to get it. Fanduel even had his o/u at 9.5 points, which at the beginning of the game was -2500. In the 4th quarter he scored a free throw and a step back 3 pointer and then was pulled from the game. But is that really what he wants to be doing? There's no way he wants a full stadium to see his team losing by 25, see him struggling to get 10 points, then applauding a 3 to cut the lead to 22. Like that youtube video of Chris Paul hitting a 3 vs the Mavs to cut the lead to 42. Of course it is an out of this world stat from Lebron, and he wants to make sure he gets his 10, but it seemed almost as if that was the priority last night, and in no way was it within the flow of the game.

The Bron show to get 10 points was the first time I thought to myself it can't be fun for anyone involved. Teammates, fans, coaches, or himself. Playing any sport not being able to do what you once did is brutal, but Lebron was doing things nobody else on Earth could do, and now can't. Hopefully his powers come back and no matter how good or bad he is it's an honor to watch him hoop, but father time is starting to win this race. Father Time eventually beat Nadal at Roland Garros, which seemed impossible, and it is only a matter of time until Father Time beats Bron's streak. If this was the last consecutive 10 point outing for King James, which I doubt it is considering he has done it almost 1300 games in a row, but if it is, it is one of the most impressive stats in sports. Never had a bad game, never had an early injury, did it all being pass first. 1 of 1. Salute King.
